Current Year | 2007 | 2006 | 2005 | 2003

November 2004
AL-erism: " Severious"
It's when a problem is far more severe
than your run-of-the-mill serious.

October 2004
AL-erism:  "Al-ementary"
It's getting down to the basics in an Al
sort of way, like starting your day with a
good, strong cup of coffee.

September 2004
AL-erism: "Obstacologist"
It's the highway worker who puts out
the pylons, "Road Work Ahead" signs and
" No Through Traffic" dividers for road
construction.

August 2004
AL-erism: "Churv"
It's a new baseball term I adopted from
my ten-year-old nephew. He developed
a pitch that's a cross between a changeup
and a curve and calls it a churv...

July 2004
AL-erism: " Re-close"
A Shorthand business term used to
describe the involved process of closing
on your loan when you refinance.

June 2004
AL-erism:  "Slangish"
You hear it a lot on baseball and softball
fields; it's what you use when standard
English just doesn't fit the situation.

May 2004
AL-erism: "Petriflied"
It's a dual AL-erism. It first described
how I sometimes feel getting on a plane
these days, but then when I opened the
windows this spring, I thought it
described the state the dead flies were
in that had lodged between the window
and the screen.

April 2004
AL-erism: "Ferching"
It's fishing for perch, of course.

March 2004
AL-erism: "Tuggled"
Is when you're watching two teams
play, like in the last Super Bowl, and
your team isn't playing but you feel a
tug of war with your emotions, a small
struggle of who to root for when you
want one team to win, but know the
other team is going to win.

February 2004
AL-erism: "Disclude"
It's the more purposeful form of
exclusion, you are not excluded but
dismissed.

January 2004
AL-erism: "In-informed"
It's when you're in the know about
what's trendy, as opposed to being
uninformed.
